Port Mansfield Reef Project

A coordinated effort between local residence and the Texas Parks and Wildlife's Artificial Reef Program will develop near shore artificial reefs. These structures will enhance fish habitat and create new dive locations easily accessible from Port Mansfield. Site selection and the permitting process are now underway with initial reef deployment expected early in 2005.

This project is actively soliciting the donation of reef building materials such as steel hull vessels, preformed concrete or heavy steel structures.
